Spanish Lambretta Serial Numbers
>Ya that link says It's a Series 1. The Lambretta bible by >'sticky' says it's a Series 3.
I'm still not convinced which >it is.if I crack the engine casing, is there anything >inside that can help me figuire this out. If it's series 1 it will only have 3 fins below the exhaust port. The hole in the crankcase where the drive sprocket bolt goes into the crank is flat at the edges. On Series 3 the edges are chamfered to suit the oil thrower washer that is fitted. Pics of the crankcase side would help. Cheers, Ian --------------------------- God put me on this earth to build a certain number of scooters, at the moment I am so far behind I will never die. Microsoft office pro 2010 serial key.
--------------------------- Check out my scooter blog site Member since Sep-4-03 > 552 posts > Jul-11-06, 00:47 AM (EDT). I'm not so sure I trust the info on Scooterhelp. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice site with lots of good info, but I know where Angelo is at on this one. I have an engine that is very close in serial number.
Scooterhelp says its a Series 1. The Stickey manual says it's a Series 3 Special. I've yet to get a definitive answer myself but a LIS engine would match the rest of the bike. However, this bike is not in original condition so who knows. Still, I think I gotta go with Stickey's data on this one. Unregistered user > > Jul-11-06, 01:21 AM (EDT). Lambretta Battery; Lambretta Frame Numbers; Lambretta History; Lambretta Technical Help. The first Spanish built Lambretta was the 125/150cc 'D' in 1954 and this was. Domestic sales proved very good and by 1960 production of Spanish Lambretta's had. SERIAL NUMBER LOCATIONS. Serial numbers can be found in the following locations on various models.
On >the few specials i have owned, only the engine is stamped >lis - the frame is not. The frame on an Li Special should be stamped LiS.
The engine is not SX150 as it's prefixed Li. I'd favour Sticky's book, or the British lambretta Archive site.
For visual identification, the barrel on a series 1 is shorter than all other Lammy barrels. Unregistered user > > Jul-11-06, 08:35 AM (EDT). Thanks again to all. This is weird, but I'm starting to understand that with Lambretta engines weird has come to be expected. According to all the Resources that have been presented that it is defineatly a Series 3 engine. Download kode cheat crush gear epsxe.
But the Engine is marked 150LI* 760___, according to the info 150LI engine production stopped at 743091. SX product started at 750001 and ended with 781238. So the engine number matches a SX150, but the prefix doesn't match.
Is it possible that it is an SX150 engine and they just forgot to change the prefix early in the production run? There was a comment made above by MarkH stating SX150, I thought he might have been talking about his scooter, but now I'm thinking he migh agree with what I have unravelled.

Ignore the case chain cover (which usually gets swapped out due to damage). You can relate the production serials range to the engines. Innocenti stamped the engines as they where made with no respect to how many frames where on the line. Engines will typically have a wider range of serial than the associated frame. The info you provided puts your engine in an LIS/150 between 63-66 ( I would venture to guess late in the LIS production. Ciao, Roberto unregistered user > > Jul-11-06, 10:41 AM (EDT). Roberto, The reason the whole Series 1 question even came up is after I ran it throught the Scooterhelp data base.
It kicked our a late 50's Series 1 answer. I have now come to the conclusion that the scootehelp resource is not accurate, and that the info provided by yourself and others points towards S3's. The exact engine number is 760534. I'm trying to get as accurate info as possible, so i get a good idea of gear ratios, and output, etc. I was thinking of doing some performance mods to the engine to increase output but if it is in fact an LiS or an SX I would be happy with the output of those 2 engines, and simply would just rebuild the engine as is. Thank you all for your time.
Ciao Angelo Member since Jan-7-04 > 84 posts > Jul-11-06, 10:55 AM (EDT). .the ending production numbers are unknown, the ending number you give of 781238 has no valid source.
We have several scooters with vins higher than the supposedly 'ending' ones on these charts.your's is probably another example. It's not an error on Innocenti's part, it's the fact that all of the online charts are just guesses based on two numbers, starting vin and number produced.
Innocenti did not keep records of which vin numbers (or colors) were produced during a given month and, in fact, often skipped vins by the thousands. Your's is most likely a late model Li 150 engine and more proof that all the charts do is create confusion. Rgds, Alex unregistered user > > Jul-11-06, 11:13 AM (EDT).
