The Marx Brothers Silver Screen Collection Restored Edition will include The Cocoanuts, Animal Crackers, Monkey Business, Horse Feathers and Duck Soup, the only five movies to feature all four brothers. The five classic films starring the legendary comedy troupe have been newly and lovingly restored. It will include newly discovered footage from Animal Crackers, which has not been seen since the film was edited to meet production code standards for reissue in 1936. The package will also include an all-new feature-length documentary, The Marx Brothers: Hollywood's Kings of Chaos, with collectible packaging including an exclusive booklet by author Robert S. Bader, The Marx Brothers: From Vaudeville to Hollywood, an all-new essay on the comedians. The feature-length documentary features new interviews with the Marx family, Leonard Maltin, Dick Cavett, filmmakers and historians. Groucho, Harpo, Chico and Zeppo Marx are the “reigning kings of comedy and remain one of the most iconic comic teams of all time,” reads the press release.

“Known for their comedic stage and film performances from the early 1920s to the late 1960s, the Marx Brothers are considered among the greatest stars of the Classic Hollywood era. “From their early days on Vaudeville and Broadway through their wildly popular motion pictures, the Marx Brothers kept audiences of all ages laughing out loud with some of the most hilarious routines ever imagined. The five movies Marx Brothers have never before released on Blu-ray that have been digitally remastered from their original film elements for improved picture quality.

Each film has undergone an extensive restoration process by Universal Pictures that included dirt clean-up, scratch removal and color correction. The restoration of Animal Crackers was done in collaboration with the British Film Institute. Hours of bonus features include new interviews with the Marx family, Leonard Maltin, Dick Cavett, filmmakers and historians, new commentaries featuring Harpo's son Bill Marx, film historians Anthony Slide, Jeffrey Vance and Robert Bader, and film critics F.X.
